No value for money in Australian holiday

Itâ??s been a long time since I spent that much money on accommodation for a Christmas break - even though I agreed to the amount of money that I paid I didnâ??t see any extra value when rate was lifted during the stay - I would just simply call this greed. On arrival we were asked to pay the full amount which was an oversight when not reading the itinerary, but donâ??t see a problem with this other than I could have invested my money for the length of the stay and paid at the end.

we were told that we will receive a starter pack which consisted of 2 toilet rolls some tea bags coffee and sugar - this was to last us a 10 day stay - I am still looking for value for money.

During the stay there was no house keeping of any sort and was left to do our own cleaning.

Not a good place to stay

The management of the property is interested to make money from even the responsibility of cleanliness of the guests. It is the responsibility of the management to keep the property clean, not the guest.

One night stay

Only reasonable review, flat batteries in TV remote, cockroach in kitchen, dim lighting. On the good side, spacious rooms, responsive host and friendly staff.

Port Macquarie is a great place to visit, especially around Flynn's Beach.

Beaches Holiday Resort. Reviewed: April 2009. #1183

Nice place Good clean rooms. Lovely location Unfortunately Room 1 which we stayed in was very noisy due to traffic on the RD and the sounds of the sliding gates which led to the car park and were right beside our bedroom This disturbed our sleep on all nights we stayed I would stay at this place again as long as I wasnt in Room 1 and was placed somewhere near the back of the resort away from the RD and more importantly the gate.

This hotel was well furnished with an amazing kitchen and appliances.

The appartment was in a wonderful location within walking distance to the beach and shops. The walks around the beachside were breathtaking. The local pizzeria next door was fantastic with great service and reasonably priced. The toilet (exhaust fan) was rather noisy especially early in the morning. If you have more than three people it would be better to have a dishwasher within the kitchen. The beds were comfortable.

A shelf would be advisable within the shower cubicle for storing shampoos etc. The sofas were also very comfy and perhaps a slighly larger television as some movies had the actors cut of due to the small screen. Staff were very helpful and courteous. Secured parking underneath was great. Great BBQ and pool facility within the grounds. We would recommend this great facility to anybody.

We were all very impressed with the friendliness from the staff that served us at the seafood take-away shop, Woolworths, at the cinema and at the Pancake shop. Nothing was too much to ask and it was very enjoyable to have such great service everywhere. All owners are to be highly praised for having such wonderful and helpful staff. Had not been to Port Macquarie since 1983 and it has become a very beautiful little town and would love to explore it during the warmer months.

The shops were also very lovely with a nice range of goods. Visiting Port Macquarie will hopefully take a lot quicker in the near future when the dual carriageways are completed and look forward to visiting this lovely town in the very near future with my family.

this hotel was a great place to stay

Great value for money, well maintained property. Will definitly come back and stay longer. Friendly staff.

Walk along the breakwall and look at all the art of the rocks. Timbertown @ wauchope (10 mins drive) is still a favourite for some of the olde time days. Cassegrain winery a definite stop as well. As well as the koala sanctuary/zoo.
