Needs to improve kitchen facility and furniture quality.
Very nice relaxing town, activities in close vicinity, we did not have enough time to do them all.
You can book hotels and much more accommodation online.

pretty disappointed
Way too over priced. We stayed in the Zennith apartments, which was right at the back, and difficult to access to facilities - even hard for bags with no elevator. When booking, the hot spas was a major factor in booking, and my 3 year old waws not allowed in. The pool outside was too cold. I think customers should be made aware of the 16 yr old policy. The lady at reception was not concerned at all, and suggested we stay at a place called roman terrace.
Wish we did.

I wouldn't stay here again!!!
Tried to ring them to say I'd be late. Line as busy. Finally got through for them to tell me they would call me back. I just wanted to say I'd be late!!! Get there. No linen on childrens beds (was told it was provided) they made us pay a service fee for the sheets!!!! Beds were hard and uncomfortable and there werent enough blankets and pillows for four people!!! Tried to check out only to be rudely told it was too early on a Sunday morning for me to get my key bond back!!! Had to wait another 1/2 hour before they would turn the computer on!!! Little things put together to make the stay not as enjoyable as it could have been!!!
Nambucca Heads is a great little place. We were able to stand on the breakwall and watch dolphins and whales frolick in the water!!!!

Ever heard of mops and cleaning agents?
Bathroom door was broken so we had to shut kids in a room while 23yr old had a shower for privacy,blankets in the wardrobes were damp and musty which made our asthmatic daughter sick, the floor was absolutely filthy and obviously hadn't been washed in months or longer,would never stay here again.
Pet Porpoise pool was excellent entertainment and SSS BBQ barn was delicious.

The Bates Hotel
When I booked online I was not under any illusions - it was cheap but at least had photo's of a lovely river etc which mislead me to think that I was going to be able to go for a lovely walk in peace. There were drunks in every caravan (which the ad did not metion caravans) and I had to walk between 2 vans to access the river. The walk was steep and scary. We also had signs on the back of the door telling us to lockdown at night which was not comforting for my elderly mother.
I tried to access the internet but the link was down and management didn't know how to help or even offer to call anyone. The room was apparently a 'deluxe' family, yet we all but had to climb over the beds to access the bathroom and we awako to every noise from the unit above. We couldn't wait to get out of there and would have saved alot of $ and had just as good a sleep if we had stayed in a rest area.
We were bitterly disappointed and would not recommend this accomodation to anyone - even as a pet motel!
Don't walk outside your accomodation after dark in Kempsey.

It is quite noisy place
It is a motel just beside the pacific highway, and very noisy during the night. The facility of the motel is very so-so. I will not choose this one if I knew this before.

This property did not live up to the image of its name and price. Greatly disappointing.
The room although comfortable, was somewhat dated & in need of a makeover for the image portrayed via web search. Told no evening refreshments were available anymore despite mention of seafood platters and teas on net. Cutlery and plates but no way to self-cater which considering one needed to go 40+km return journey to find a restaurant was a real pain. Breakfasts were excellent but no better than others we had had at lesser priced establishments.
Its location over looking Wallis Lake was delightful but not enough to counteract its distance from amenities and the lack of facilities in the immediate surround. (The one & only small shop in Coomba Park itself which was closed anyway). The relevant remoteness was a fact not obvious until arrival. The swimming pool had a very small area on which to place sunbeds/chairs and with maximum bed occupancy would have been uncomfortable.
As Galway Downs was to be a treat at the end of a busy touring itinerary it was a great disappointment.
Due to its isolation,staying at Galway Downs involved much extra travelling to access attractions in the wider area.

Ocean Paradise Holiday Units. Reviewed: January 2009. #888
The property was not in a good state it was very smelly as it had floods but the unit had cockroaches and did not have a self contained kitchen that was advertise. For the money you paid it was not worth it would not stay there again. The fridge was a bar fridge and falling to bits thank good we were not there during the day.
